You've probably all been wondering when we were going to join the blogging network. Well, the wait is over!
Since the most recent exciting stuff in our lives has been Christmas, the content of this blog will be full of its details. We have gathered our pile of Christmas goodies with us on the couch to jumpstart our brains for blogging...Let it begin!
Our Christmas season began with investigation of each other's wish lists. It was also filled with the anticipation for surprise! However, that was short lived for both of us, starting with the mystery of Sarah's present being revealed. Dec 7th was Clint's birthday and Sarah decided to make Baked Alaska for his birthday cake. The mixers borrowed from neighbors failed to produce a good meringue shell, the cause being that the one mixer only had one beater, and the other didn't generate enough speed even with its boost button. So it didn't take Sarah long to figure out what her gift was with a small amount of curiosity when Clint gave her the hint that her present was red and they could both use it. The only conclusion, a Kitchen Aid! Clint didn't even try to evade that guess. Anyway, there wasn't much surprise for Clint either since his list was so specific and limited his surprise to black dress socks. Clint took a video of Sarah opening her Kitchen Aid, and you wouldn't know she knew what was inside just by watching it.
Our presents included: wools socks for both of us, wool gloves for Clint, plenty of sweets, a blue top and some blue pants for Sarah, a white shirt for clints, more sweets, a pair of jeans and a belt for Clint, earrings for Sarah, a bit more sweets, aromatherapy socks for Sarah, Kung Fu Panda, and some more sweets with kisses in between.
A breakfast of Sarah's specialty french toast and Clint's scrambled eggs with sausage and green onion, we packed and did a quick clean up of the apartment and headed to Pocatello for dinner with Sarah's grandma and family on her dad's side. Clint escaped unscathed by relative interrogation and we headed over to Sarah's parents to open more presents and meet her lil brother Richard's new puppy, Penny (German Shepherd/Corgie mix). Sarah didn't escape this visit without scratches however since she played with Penny whose claws hadn't yet received a pedicure from her Christmas present (a nail filer thingy for pets).
The celebration that evening ended with shot glasses of sparkling cider and chunks of Grandma Reynolds' peanut brittle while watching Christmas episodes of The Fresh Prince of Belaire till 2 am!
Dec 26th meant it was time to drive to Arimo (half hour south of Pocatello) to visit Clint's dad and our friends that Clint grew up with. Upon arrival at his house though, Sarah was still so tired from the night before that she crashed on the bed in Clint's old room for 4 hours while Clint helped his dad with snow removal before joining her. We woke up for a dinner of Chop Soui and toast then spent the rest of the day with our friends.
When we finally got home to our apartment in Rexburg, it was...you guessed it...2 am!
With the end of the year approaching and the snow encroaching, this blog post is finished.
