Madison firefighters to unveil 9/11 memorial - Rexburg Standard Journal: News
Clint and I attended the unveiling of a memorial constructed out of steel from Ground Zero by the Madison county firefighters in honor of one of their own this year for the 9th anniversary of 9/11.  I still need to stop by and take a picture of the actual memorial now that it's not surrounded by a crowd of people.  Here's the pics I did get:

I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America-And to the republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.  We are children of our Heavenly Father who loves us.  I love him.  I will stand as a Witness of God at all times and in all things and in all places.  I am truly proud to be an American, humbled at age 14 by the events of this day.  It really wasn't long ago at all. Here, I share briefly my thoughts and memories and feelings of  9/11/2001:9 years ago today, I had no idea what the Pentagon or the Twin Towers/World Trade Center were.  It's disconcerting to me how isolated I was.   I happened to be waiting for friends that morning to walk to school-I was alone in a living room and thought that the airplanes crashing into the buildings was a clip from a movie being talked about on the Today Show.  Naivety shattered by shock, I did not know how to respond.  At that time the eastern states were like a completely different country to me.  Rumors of INL (then INEEL) being the next target because of nuclear technology there had me wondering whether we'd be quarantined in our homes for months.  I stretched my mind trying to think of someone I knew who had been there or lost a loved one...my mind was blank.  I have never liked how sheltered I was as a child...even now I am sheltered from terrible things.  I remember a teacher asking us to never forget this day or pretend it wasn't a real life tragedy like the Holocaust is for some people/governments/countries/etc.  I am sad that people have already forgotten or deny the truth (http://www.thoughtcrimenews.com/  http://www.thoughtcrimenews.com/9-11-is-a-lie.gif God bless the USA.  God bless His children and comfort all those robbed of peace and freedom.  I'm grateful for the gospel.  I know that all those who've suffered loss and pain because of these events will one day soon be reunited with their loved ones and their hearts and minds will be healed because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.God bless you.  God bless me.  God bless us all.  Always remember!  I shall never forget!
