Yes, I can spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious basically without thinking. I say it because it's what you say when you don't know what to say.
Anyhoo, I should be sleeping, but I'm not. I'm listening to Bella's lullaby over and over...so beautiful. I really miss having a piano to play. All my music is in a box and I haven't touched any ebony and ivory in months because they are expensive and I have to drive to campus or hope the church is open and that I won't be disturbing anyone. Plus, I haven't been in the mood for awhile. I really do miss it though.
On the other hand, I want to learn to play the cello...maybe I'll do that this fall for my one credit class.
(*I found out that I can stay enrolled with BYU-I while I do my online program at ISU and just take a half-credit or one credit class each semester I'm on track.)
Here's the really kinda pathetic reason I'm writing...the videos Clint posted on the blog are covering up my "Cuz I'm a blog, Ya, Ya, Ya!" list and so I couldn't tell if blog being covered up had been updated or not. I know, I'm strange.

Lighting Tech

I work on campus as a lighting tech. It's pretty much the best job the campus offers. I work with a crew and most of them are pretty new. We set up lighting for events and concerts on campus. This includes setting up truss that hangs on motors that lift it up to the ceiling, hanging lights, moving lights, LED's, and lasers. We cable them all together and fly it all up. I also spend a bit of time in the ceiling/catwalks doing setups. Just recently I have been training on the lighting board a.k.a. console. I have been controlling the lights for smaller events like jazz and talent shows. Just recently my boss asked me if I would like to run the console for Guitars Unplugged. It's one of the biggest concerts of the year and we usually go all out with our lights. Guitars Unplugged involves music groups/bands of BYU-I students trying out for stage time. About 26 get picked. The first half play Thursday night and the second half play Friday. Saturday, it's Best of Guitars Unplugged and 14 of the 26 were picked and it is the really big event. We put up about every light we have. I only ran the console for Thursday and Friday. Saturday night it requires two people to run the show and my boss and his assistant ran the consoles that night. It was a really fun experience running the lights the first two nights. The head of the audio department commented to me during a number and told me: 'That's what we call art, Clint'.

For the Saturday concert I spent about 16 hours working, setting up for it. We hung a motorcycle from our back stage truss, had a motorcycle on each side on the stage and an old 1969 imported Subaru that was smaller than an old Mini. The videos were of Saturday night. I couldn't find any good videos of the nights that I ran the light board.

This was a while ago but I ran a spotlight for it and helped with the setup with the colored lights. You can see my silhouette at 1:13 upper left corner behind bright light. It was cold!

Crazy Stunt Junk

So I was taking Clint to class today when the guy on Z103 (the radio station we were listening to) asks for calls cuz he wants to know if he should be nervous about touching his gear shifter in his automatic transmission car while he's driving cuz he thinks he'll die if he accidentally throws it into reverse. The guy who he was on the phone with says newer cars have safety mechanisms built in so your car will just go into neutral or something. I'm driving and Clint decides to pull this stupid stunt and puts the car into reverse! Of course I flip on him and tell him it's stupid and stuff while I'm trying to get the car moving again cuz he stalled the engine and we were slowing down with cars behind us on a trafficked street. I didn't know I could restart the car in neutral cuz genius hadn't told me before so we were both messing with the gear shifter because I was trying to get it into park and he was trying to put it into neutral-OI VEI! The rest of the trip to his class I had him calling the radio station to tell him about his impulsive move. The line was busy but I kept trying and finally got through and talked to the guy after an hour. Could have told him about it more dramatically but the drama had kind of worn off and Clint wasn't in the car anymore of course.
Maybe someday I'll find a contest I can submit this story someday and win something cool...like a car that won't die on me when my husband randomly decides to shift it into reverse because of the guy on the radio suggesting it!

Living Room Rearrangement Craze

Yesterday we bought an 'entertainment center/tv stand' thingmy off of a blog. They didn't have directions for it and we were hoping to use the picture from their blog to put it together...however they deleted it before Clint got to work on it. He got it put together pretty quickly cuz he's just amazing like that and this is what it looked like:


The TV was not exactly stable with this setup and after examining his work for a while, Clint started laughing-it was upside down! Error Remedied:



Now to the left of this dealio, you can see a bit of our loveseat...with this new stand, it was a tight squeeze. We've been wanting to replace our couches with a futon but since we don't want to do that until we move in August to a different apartment, we needed another solution. Clint being all about his sound system came up with stadium seating. So today he went out and bought a bunch of cinder blocks. We put the loveseat up on top of cinderblocks and the couch and voila!




Hooray for a clean, awesome living room! Now we just have to add curtains for it to be complete!
P.S. Sarah is super excited because she is going to be the aunt of her third nephew in September! Hopefully her sister Andrea will also have a boy (she's expecting in October and has 5 girls).

Basically...

Okay, so I haven't blogged for a long time. Clint was supposed to do a couple about skiing and stuff, but he lost his motivation and I haven't felt like writing either.
If anyone does read this, you're lucky because I have a migraine right now and quite frankly, maybe you're not so lucky because I am actually quite frustrated right now.
I am jobless right now, which means that I went out and bought expensive paper to print my resume on because I am that desperate. I live in Rexburg, still don't have my associate's degree, and mornings don't make for a happier me. So, I'm trying to tailor my resume to each job I apply for and printing on fancy paper, all the good stuff, in an effort to secure some kind of employment.
I'm cranky and miserable and lonely and therefore venting, because Clint's sound asleep from working 8+ hours the past two days and I can't wake him up and talk to him because it's the middle of the night and doesn't understand what's going on if I do.
Basically, I have nothing to convince me this is going to end anytime soon and I feel kinda jilted by it all.
Sigh, I can't even eat chocolate cuz I'm trying to tone my muffin top tummy down.
